Marketing sucks. But it doesn't have to. Marketing fails when you're trying to persuade, trying to convince. People are smart, they can sense a hard sell.
Marketing is best when it's a conversation. It's best when it's a dialogue between people. It's best when it offers new experiences and enriches preexisting ones.
Marketing succeeds when there is an authentic message that needs to be heard. Having a sincere stance and an authentic message to contribute to a community is what makes connecting with people, through marketing, both possible and good.
